Navaratri is a nine day festival celebrated in India to honor the Mother Goddess in all her avatars (forms). The word Navratri is derived from Sanskrit which means nine nights – nava (nine)ratri (night). Nine forms of maa Durga is worshipped during these nine nights and days..
